Men's Soccer Tops Southern Virginia 2-1 in Thrilling Homecoming Victory

Rocky Mount, NC - The N.C. Wesleyan men's soccer team delivered a memorable 2-1 victory over Southern Virginia during Homecoming, capping a day of celebration for the program's rich history. The Battling Bishops honored the 1984 team, the first in school history to appear in the NCAA Tournament, along with a special tribute to Coach Tony Ferrell, who was presented with a signed commemorative jersey for reaching 100 wins at NCWU.

Facing a 1-0 deficit, the Bishops caught a break in the 43rd minute when Southern Virginia conceded an own goal, leveling the score just before the break. The Homecoming crowd was sent into a frenzy in the 66th minute when Tiago Feler, assisted by Bastien Dechamps, knocked in the game-winning goal, securing a huge win for Wesleyan.
