Rocky Mount, NC – The N.C. Wesleyan women's soccer team battled hard in its annual Breast Cancer Awareness game, but ultimately fell 2-1 to William Peace University on a picture-perfect Tuesday afternoon..

The Battling Bishops saw a strong effort from forward Mia Scherber, who leveled the score at 1-1 in the 28th minute after William Peace had taken an early lead. Both teams fought for control throughout the game, with the score remaining tied well into the second half.

However, in the 75th minute, Lily Rust of William Peace found the back of the net, securing the game-winning goal for the Pacers. Despite the result, Wesleyan's offense generated multiple chances, taking seven shots, four of which were on target but just narrowly missing the mark.

Goalkeeper Grace Walls also contributed to the Bishops' defensive effort, recording a key save in a crucial moment in the game.
