Volleyball Secures Crucial Win Over Pfeiffer, Clinch #8 Seed in USA South Tournament

Rocky Mount, NC – The N.C. Wesleyan volleyball team battled its way to a thrilling 3-2 victory over Pfeiffer on Friday night, securing the #8 seed in the upcoming USA South Conference Tournament. The hard-fought win was made even more special by the performance of super senior Sloan Martin, who played in her final match at Everett Gymnasium.

Martin, who has been a cornerstone of the program throughout her career, delivered an incredible all-around performance, finishing with twelve kills, fifteen digs, and 27 assists. She also led the team with six service aces, most of which came in a crucial stretch of the match that helped propel the Bishops to victory. Her dynamic play on both offense and defense was a key factor in the win, as Wesleyan won in a thriller

The match saw a strong performance at the net from Junior Emily Foraker, who led the way with six blocks, while Sophomore Fiona Egan and Junior Kayla Simmons contributed two blocks each to help pace the Bishop attack. The offense also benefited from the steady play of freshmen Shay Lunsford and Brooke Mandozzi, who each dished out three assists to support Wesleyan's efforts.
