Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men's Basketball Splits Season Series with William Peace

Raleigh, NC - In a highly competitive matchup which saw the Battling Bishops fight back from as much of a twelve point deficit, the N.C. Wesleyan men's basketball program fell 64-61 to William Peace. In one of the most productive scoring games of his career, Kyron Kelly dominated the post with eighteen points and five rebounds. Only one other time in his career has Kelly scored more, coming earlier this season against Mid-Atlantic Christian when he dropped twenty-five.

The Basics:

Score:
North Carolina Wesleyan 61, William Peace 64
Location/Venue: Raleigh, NC / Herman Athletic Center
Records: North Carolina Wesleyan (11-9, 5-4 USA South) , William Peace (9-11, 4-5 USA South)

Outside of Kelly, Wesleyan struggled to find momentum offensively as guard Marquis Eskew was the only other Bishop in double-figures. The Pacer defense would hold Wesleyan to only three buckets from behind the arc, with a pair of those coming by way of Marquis Eskew. However, the Bishops would have to run their offense through the post grabbing fourteen offensive rebounds, which led to 42 post points. While rebounding and defensive side of the ball were some of the best of the season, the Battling Bishop's comeback would fall just short despite holding the Pacers to under 40% for the contest.

Wesleyan will return home on Saturday with a face-off with Pfeiffer tipping off at 4:00.
