Demorest, GA - The Battling Bishops hit the diamond early this morning with the task of taking on the #18 Chapman Panthers who were undefeated headed into the contest.. Wesleyan was coming off an explosive performance against the Piedmont Lions where
Cullen Davis shut the door on the Lions in the 9th for a 8-3 victory.

The Bishops struck early in the first inning with an RBI from
Isaiah Thomas who received a little help from an error, which led to senior
Davie Morgan reaching home to put the Bishops on top 2-0.
Davie Morgan became a usual at home plate as he would find himself on third and scored on a wild pitch extending the lead to 3-0. His effort and attentiveness on the bases are what set the tone for the Bishops.

Colin Scoggins would follow the trend of scoring on wild pitches as he would do the same in the seventh inning scoring the Bishops final run. Wesleyan finished out the game only giving up one run in the eighth inning, but come away with the victory and put the rest college baseball on notice.

Andrew Tubb tossed a gem in his second outing of the season, throwing a shutout and dominating a top offense in the country. Only allowing two hits, his ability to change speeds caused lots of issues for the Panther hitters.
The bullpen continues to be a strong suit for Wesleyan, only allowing one run in the last three innings of the ballgame this afternoon. Senior
Cullen Davis racked up two strikeouts and did not allow a single hit to finish the game after being thrown in a bases loaded jam. He also earned himself his first save of the year to close it out.
