Rocky Mount, NC - The Battling Bishop's baseball team looked to improve on its three game win streak, taking on votes received Penn State Harrisburg in a Saturday afternoon showdown at Bauer Field to begin a busy two day stretch of three games.
The Basics:
Score: North Carolina Wesleyan 10, Penn State Harrisburg 7
Location/Venue: Rocky Mount, NC / Bauer Field
Records: North Carolina Wesleyan (5-2, 0-0 USA South), Penn State Harrisburg (1-1, 0-0 NEAC)
With a rough start out the gate, the Battling Bishops fell behind 6-0 early due to a string of errors and passed balls. This was up until the 4
th inning, as
Jackson Ellyson singled up the middle and brought home two runners to get on the board. Ellyson was then brought home by
Tyson Bass who has become an RBI machine this season. The Nittany Lions would strike back in the 6
th inning as the PSH lead was extended to 7-5. The game would find itself tied up in the course of the 6th and 7th innings due to a sacrifice fly that brought one man home and then
Tyson Bass would pull off the unusual steal of home to shift the momentum completely in Wesleyan's favor. In the 7th, the Battling Bishops would walk in three runs to take the first lead of the game, while
Cullen Davis slammed the door with a six out save.
