Game 1:
The Lady Bishops would not waste any time finding home in the season opener as they scored eight runs in their first inning of the season. The offense came to life early with Wesleyan getting on the board by way of a triple from
Skyler Walker.
Ava Lowry would then follow with a two-run blast to extend the lead to 3-0.
Makayla Simmons also hit her first shot of the year, sealing an easy win in the first inning.
USA South First-Team All-Conference selection took the hill for the first time on Saturday and was fantastic. Bishops ace
Emily Humphrey absolutely obliterated the Mustangs making it impossible to come back from an eleven-run deficit. Tossing all five innings and only allowing two hits, Wesleyan was off to the best 1-0 start Coach Brackett could have asked for.

Game 2:
The Lady Bishops would carry over the success from game one, blowing the game open in the first inning tallying a total of seven runs, all starting with another RBI triple by
Skyler Walker. Senior
Molly Alejandrino would then bring three home with a double to left field and extend the lead to 4-0. The Bishop bats were alive again in the 2
nd inning with a sacrifice fly and an RBI single hit by Freshman
Hannah Rubino would widen the lead to 9-0 heading into the 3
rd inning. The Bishops would not be satisfied, scoring another eight runs in the 4th courtesy of multiple big hits, including a
Hannah Rubino RBI triple, a
Morgan Aycock RBI single, and an
Aleah Jones RBI triple that scored three runs all contributing to the finale of an electric season opener.
Sophomore
Morgan Aycock looked fantastic in her first start of the 2024 campaign, tossing all five inning and striking out six Mustangs.
