Karysima Harrison Surpasses 1,000 Rebounds on Play4Kay Night

Rocky Mount, NC - History was made inside Everett Gymnasium on Tuesday night as Kayrisma Harrison became the first player in Battling Bishop's school history to surpass the 1,000 rebound plateau. Only needing five boards headed into the game, Harrison crushed that number by ten... securing fifteen rebounds on the night along with a jaw-dropping seventeen points to her name, Headed into the 2023-24 season, she was already NCWU's single-season and career leading rebounder, while earning the distinction of one of the best post players in school history.

Location/Venue: Rocky Mount, NC / Everett Gymnasium

The Battling Bishops would unfortunately drop a heartbreaker despite big buckets from Nadia Simmons and Areina Harris in the closing minutes to keep the contest a one possession affair. Simmons would finish the night matching Harrison's seventeen points and added three rebounds and four assists to the effort. Areina Harris also had two big threes and great defensive possessions on the perimeter to slow down the Monarch guards.

Post play was also critical in the contest as the Battling Bishops brought down47 total rebounds and scored 38 points in the paint.
