Rocky Mount, NC - The N.C. Wesleyan baseball team defeated Pfeiffer 5-1 in the USA South opener Friday night at Bauer Field. The Battling Bishops would get an outstanding start from Junior Dylan Cheeley who tossed seven one hit innings, while only allowing one earned run and striking out seven.

Trailing 1-0 in the 4th thanks to a single through the right side, Seth Jones would respond to tie the game in the bottom of the same inning with a single into left field. Wesleyan would open the game up in the 5th as Tyson Bass hit a solo shot laser to left center and was followed by a sac fly by Javier Quintana which brought around Alex Moskal to extend the Bishop lead to 3-1.

In the 7th, Davie Morgan would launch his 4th bomb of the season to cap off a well played game by the Battling Bishops in every aspect. Coming in relief for the final six outs was Cullen Davis who did not allow a hit and struck out four Falcons.
