Greensboro, NC - The N.C. Wesleyan softball program fell in a DH at Greensboro College on Friday. The pair of games kicks off a four game weekend for the softball program.
Game 1:
N.C. Wesleyan 0, Greensboro 9
Never being able to gain much momentum, Wesleyan would trail by one headed into the 5th inning, before the Pride put up an eight spot to take the run rule victory. The top of the Wesleyan order would be productive, combining for three hits between
Skyler Walker,
Emily Humphrey, and
Makayla Simmons.
Game 2:
N.C. Wesleyan 2, Greensboro 3
Responding to a third inning run by the Pride, the Bishops responded in the 6th and 7th innings to take a 2-1 lead thanks to a
Molly Alejandrino single and a
Makayla Simmons homer to left.
While the Pride tied the game in the bottom of the 7th and walked it off in the 8th,
Emily Humphrey pitched a gritty game, only allowing one earned run over the course of the game.Â

The softball program will have an opportunity to bounce back on Saturday as the Spirits of Salem College come to town for a 1:00 PM first pitch.Â
