Rocky Mount, NC - The N.C. Wesleyan softball team crushed Salem on Saturday afternoon in run rule affairs at Edge Field. With the sweep, Wesleyan improves to 12-10 on the year.
Game 1:
N.C. Wesleyan 9, Salem 1
With seven runs in the first two frames, Emily Huphrey got the hit parade started with a sac-fly while
Makayla Simmons tripled behind her to make it 2-0 in favor of the Battling Bishops. The duo would do the same in the second, both bringing in runs thanks to an RBI single and double.
Skyler Walker also got in on the action, roping a double to bring around
Taylor Kelly to the plate. Walker later homered to left center in the fourth inning and brought around
Lillie Baumbach.
On the mound,
Morgan Aycock looked fantastic, tossing four innings of work and not allowing a single earned run.

N.C. Wesleyan 12, Salem 0
With three runs out the shoot,
Makayla Simmons would drive in the game's first run with an RBI groundout.
Savannah Thompson later singled up the middle to bring around
Emily Humphrey and
Skyler Walker. The Bishops tacked on two more in the third, as Simmons recorded a monster RBI triple to score
Emily Humphrey. She would later score in the same inning courtesy of a
Molly Alejandrino RBI knock.
Posting a seven spot in the 4th, Wesleyan recorded four RBI base knocks as Freshman
Aleah Jones got herself two RBIs and
Makayla Simmons continued her monster day with a bases clearing double.
Emily Humphrey earned her fourth win on the mound this season, throwing four shutout inning and only allowed two Spirit hits.
