Baseball Off to Hot Start in Fayetteville

Fayetteville, NC - In one of the most complete games of the season, the Wesleyan baseball team crushed Methodist 15-1 on Saturday afternoon. The victory over the Monarchs secured the Wesleyan's 20th win of the year and 10th in conference play.

Taking advantage of three straight Monarch walks out the gate, Javier Quintana picked up his first of five RBIs on the afternoon sending home Drifton Padgett and Tyson Bass. Jaiden Barker and Davie Morgan both drove in runs in the first to contribute to the ten Bishop hits on the afternoon.

Turning the lineup over in the 2nd, Tyson Bass roped a single up the middle to drive home Maison Nance as Javier Quintana was back at it again, with another two RBI single that scored Bass and Padgett again. Not letting the foot off the gas, Drifton Padgett hit a bases clearing triple in the third and Quintana delivered once again, doubling to score Jackson Hobbs.

Tacking on three more runs in the 7th, Blake Scottsingled through the right side to score Bass and Padgett.
