Softball Crushes Brevard in DH Sweep

Brevard, NC - The N.C. Wesleyan softball team hit the road to Brevard on Saturday and swept the Tornados.With the pair of wins, the softball program improves to 19-15 on the year.

Game 1:

N.C. Wesleyan 13, Brevard 3

Starting with a bang, Skyler Walker blasted a two run shot to right center to immediately get Wesleyan out to a 2-0 advantage. The 2nd inning saw more of the same as both Lillie Baumbach and Emily Humphrey drove in three runs combined to open the flood gates.

Scoring six more in the 4th, a pair of sac-flys and big RBI knocks from Baumbach and Ava Lowry would give the Bishops enough runs for a run rule victory.

On the mound for Wesleyan, Keira Boisvert would get the win, only allowing a single hit in 2.2 innings of work.

Game 2:

N.C. Wesleyan 8, Brevard 0

Dominating game two from start to finish, Wesleyan scored six runs in the top of the second to blow the contest wide open. Savannah Thompson would get things started with a two RBI double and was followed by a single from Skyler Walker. Ava Lowry would also come up clutch with a huge double in the frame that would send around Emily Humphrey and Walker.

On the mound, Humphrey would toss a complete game shutout for the Bishops, tossing six innings and only giving up three hits.
