Rocky Mount, NC - The 2024 USA South Baseball Tournament has come to an end as the Battling Bishops repeat as conference champions. Crushing Brevard 17-2, Wesleyan is headed back to the NCAA Regionals for the third time in the past four years.

As the visiting team on the scoreboard, Wesleyan's offense started hot with Blake Scott hitting a three-run home run to give the hosts an early advantage. The Battling Bishops would double their tally from the first inning by scoring six in the top-half of the second. Tournament MVP Tyson Bass then hit a two-run home run, his third four-bagger of the championship series. The hitting continued as Davie Morgan knocked in a run followed by a two-run single from Alex Moskal. After a scoreless third inning, Wesleyan scored another five runs in the top of the fourth inning, one on a solo shot by Jackson Hobbs and then a four more thanks to a Jaiden Barker grand slam.

On the mound, Chandler Padgett went the distance for the Battling Bishops, getting the win after allowing just two runs on five hits with four walks and seven strikeouts for his 7th win of the 2024 campaign.

The Battling Bishops will find out its NCAA Tournament destination on Monday at 12:00 PM.
