Rocky Mount, NC - The N.C. Wesleyan women's basketball team pulled off an impressive come-from-behind win over Methodist in the Back 2 School Jam on Wednesday night, edging the Monarchs 63-58.

After a slow start that saw the Bishops trailing 19-5 at the end of the first quarter, Methodist capitalized on its hot shooting, going 8-for-13 from the field. However, the Bishops mounted a comeback, igniting an eleven-point scoring run in the second quarter to trim the deficit to eleven at the break. The fourth quarter proved to be key, with Wesleyan exploding for a 24-14 advantage to seal the victory.
Four Bishops scored in double figures, showcasing a balanced offensive attack. Dorinda Jordan led the way with thirteen points and seven rebounds, shooting an efficient 6-for-8 from the field. Corynthian Williams added eleven points and six rebounds, including a clutch 4-for-6 performance at the free-throw line. Guard Leila Copeland and forward Iyania Evans chipped in ten points apiece, with Evans also grabbing seven crucial rebounds.
Wesleyan's dominance in the paint was key, as NCWU had 34 points down low. The Bishops also capitalized on the glass and delivered in clutch moments, particularly in the final frame.
Defensively, the Bishops were outstanding, forcing 22 turnovers and holding the Monarchs to just 4-of-18 shooting from beyond the arc. The game's defining statistic was at the free-throw line, where Wesleyan converted twenty free throws compared to just six by Methodist.
