Brevard, NC - The North Carolina Wesleyan women's soccer team dropped a 2–0 decision on Saturday afternoon at Ives-Lemel Family Field, as host Brevard remained unbeaten on the year.
The Tornados (13–0–0, 7–0–0 USA South) struck once in each half, while the Bishops (5–8–1, 3–4–0 USA South) held its own defensively against one of the league's top attacks. Sophomore goalkeeper Allie O'Leary recorded four first-half saves before Grace Walls took over in net after intermission, collecting six saves of her own to keep Wesleyan within striking distance.
Brevard opened the scoring in the 35th minute when Mikayla Zvekan found the net off an assist from Carissa Jenkins. The Tornados doubled their lead midway through the second half as Brennan Howell converted in the 77th minute, assisted by Kinlee Mozley.
Senior midfielder Samantha Dell led the Bishops' offense with five shots, including three on goal, while Makena Meyer added another shot on frame. The Bishops produced six total shots and three corner kicks but were unable to break through against Brevard keeper Nico Arroyo, who finished with four saves to secure the shutout.
