Women's Soccer Rolls Past Pfeiffer 3–1 for First USA South Win

Rocky Mount, NC - The North Carolina Wesleyan women's soccer team earned its first USA South victory of the season on Saturday afternoon, defeating Pfeiffer 3–1 at Scalf Field.

The Bishops (2–7–1, 1–3–0 USA South) delivered one of their most complete performances of the year, outshooting the Falcons (1–7–0, 1–2–0) by a 17–5 margin while maintaining control throughout both halves.

Wesleyan struck early in the eighth minute when Eden Whiteside connected on a feed from Kayden Comerford to give the Bishops a 1–0 lead. Pfeiffer answered in the 19th minute with a goal from Quinn Branca, sending the teams into halftime tied at 1–1.

After the break, the Bishops wasted little time regaining momentum. In the 50th minute, Samantha Dell finished off a setup from Mia Scherbrer to put Wesleyan ahead for good. The sophomore midfielder then added an assist of her own in the 76th minute, finding Makena Meyer for the insurance goal that sealed the 3–1 victory.

Defensively, Wesleyan was strong from back to front. Lauren Graham anchored the effort with three saves in goal, while the back line limited Pfeiffer to just five total shots.
