Rocky Mount, NC - The North Carolina Wesleyan football team fell 38-29 to Greensboro on Senior Day at Vernon T. Bradley Stadium, despite multiple lead changes and another standout performance from running back
Nahjiir Seagraves.
After falling behind 6-0 early, the Bishops (4-5, 2-4 USA South) gained momentum in the second quarter when Seagraves punched in a six-yard touchdown to give Wesleyan a 7-6 lead heading into halftime. The junior continued his strong day in the third quarter, scoring twice more — once on a five-yard reception from quarterback Braylon Knapp and again on a one-yard rush — helping the Bishops build a 21-13 advantage.
However, Greensboro (2-7, 1-5 USA South) responded with a series of big plays from quarterback Cameron Turner, who threw four touchdown passes and ran for another. Turner's 41-yard strike to KJ Brown early in the fourth quarter put the Pride ahead for good, and a late interception return sealed the victory.
Seagraves carried the load for Wesleyan with 120 rushing yards and three total touchdowns, while Knapp finished with two passing scores, connecting with Seagraves and TaRon Wilson. Tyson Resper led the receiving corps with four catches for 29 yards.
Defensively, Andrew Brown and Breon Thompson each recorded eight tackles, while Savonte McKeithan grabbed an interception to stop a first-half drive.
