Wesleyan Faces Strong Test on the Road at Mary Washington

Box Score Fredericksburg, VA - N.C. Wesleyan battled hard throughout its December 15 road contest at Mary Washington but ultimately fell 75–46, showing effort and competitiveness against a strong opponent. The Bishops stayed within reach early, trailing 34–22 at halftime, and continued to compete on both ends of the floor. Rashod Smith led the scoring for Wesleyan with 12 points on 4-of-8 shooting, including a three-pointer, while also logging heavy minutes and applying defensive pressure. James Jones followed with 11 points, knocking down three shots from beyond the arc and providing a perimeter spark. Inside, Justin Burden contributed six points and six rebounds, battling through traffic, and Deejayy Cox added four points and seven rebounds, helping the Bishops stay active on the glass. Wesleyan worked to disrupt Mary Washington's rhythm and create scoring opportunities, but the Eagles' efficiency allowed them to pull away in the second half. Despite the result, the Bishops' fight, energy, and individual efforts offered positives to build on as they continue through the season. Your Bishops will be back on their home court on December 30th where they will face the Piedmont Lions.
