Rocky Mount, NC - The North Carolina Wesleyan women's basketball team dropped a 99–73 decision to Christopher Newport Thursday evening inside Everett Gymnasium.
The two teams were tight early, with CNU holding a slim 21–18 advantage after the first quarter and a 44–37 lead at halftime. The Captains broke things open in the third period, outscoring the Bishops 36–17 to build a commanding cushion that Wesleyan was unable to overcome in the final ten minutes.

CNU placed five players in double figures and used a deep bench to control the game, outscoring the Bishops 54–32 in bench points and forcing 34 turnovers that turned into 43 points. The Captains also found success in transition, scoring 22 fast-break points.
Wesleyan battled on the boards with 46 rebounds and stayed competitive through the first half, but the sustained pressure and efficiency from CNU in the third quarter proved to be the difference.
