Greensboro, NC - The N.C. Wesleyan softball team earned a split in a road doubleheader against Guilford on Tuesday, taking the opener in a high-scoring 13-7 victory before falling 6-4 in the second game.
Game 1: NC Wesleyan 13, Guilford 7
The Bishops exploded for eighteen hits in the opener, using a seven-run third inning to break the game open. Savannah Bain, Kyiah Simmons, and Alexis Whitfield each tallied multiple RBIs, with Simmons capping the scoring with a solo home run in the seventh. Addyson Romanczyk picked up the win in relief, allowing just one run over 1.2 innings before Morgan Aycock closed it out with two scoreless frames.
Game 2: Guilford 6, N.C. Wesleyan 4
The Bishops struck first in game two, but Guilford responded with five runs over the first three innings to take control. Ragan Holloman and Emily Humphrey both homered to keep Wesleyan within striking distance, but the Quakers held on. Keira Boisvert took the loss after allowing five runs (four earned) in three innings.
