Rocky Mount, NC - The N.C. Wesleyan women's lacrosse team showed resilience on Tuesday afternoon, finding the back of the net in the second half of its matchup against USA South opponent Meredith at Stallings Field.
Despite a strong start from the Avenging Angels, the Battling Bishops continued to fight throughout the game, earning a goal from Maxima Iglesias in the third quarter. Iglesias capitalized on an opportunity and delivered a determined unassisted strike to put Wesleyan on the board.
Defensively, the Bishops worked hard against a high-powered Meredith offense, with goalkeeper Jillian Stine making nine saves to help anchor the team in net. N.C. Wesleyan also won five draw controls and improved on clear attempts throughout the contest.
