Rocky Mount, NC - The North Carolina Wesleyan men's soccer team battled through a back-and-forth contest on Tuesday evening at Scalf Field, earning a 3–3 draw against visiting William Peace in USA South play.
The Bishops jumped on top in the 37th minute when freshman Jack Mudd converted off a setup from Santiago Calvo Lovera, giving Wesleyan a 1–0 lead heading into halftime.
William Peace responded after the break, striking three times in a 22-minute span. Ibra Ndiaye leveled the score in the 60th minute, followed by goals from Zach Marlier and Gabriel Faria in the 78th and 79th minutes to give the Pacers a 3–1 advantage.
Wesleyan showed resilience down the stretch, answering with two late tallies to secure the draw. Mikkel Christensen pulled one back in the 82nd minute off an assist from Jordi Rodriguez, and with just seconds remaining in regulation, Corentin Solitaire delivered the equalizer on a feed from Tom Roantree.
Both teams managed five shots on target, with NCWU holding an overall 8–5 edge in total attempts. Goalkeeper Jacob Westermark made one save in net for the Bishops, while WPU's Ayden Miller recorded two stops.
With the result, Wesleyan moves to 2-7-1 overall and 0-1-1 in USA South play, while William Peace shifts to 5-4-2 and 0-0-1 in the league.
