Bishops Lock Down Methodist in 69–57 Road Win

Fayetteville, N.C. - N.C. Wesleyan earned a strong 69–57 USA South Conference road victory over Methodist on January 28 at the Riddle Center in Fayetteville, controlling the game with defensive pressure, balanced scoring, and timely execution. The Bishops set the tone early by holding Methodist to just 10 points in the first quarter, then created separation with a decisive second quarter in which they outscored the Monarchs 22–8 to take a 36–18 halftime lead. Wesleyan continued to dictate the pace throughout the second half, responding to every Methodist push with key baskets and defensive stops. The Bishops finished with 39 points off turnovers, 32 points in the paint, 17 fast-break points, and 30 bench points, showcasing depth and energy in a tough road environment.

Anaya Hall led N.C. Wesleyan with 13 points while adding four rebounds, two assists, and a steal, setting the tone defensively and offensively. Harmony Martin provided a major spark off the bench, scoring 14 points on four made field goals while also contributing rebounds and assists. Kieara Hughes chipped in nine points and six rebounds, while Des'Myah Croom added nine points in the paint to help anchor the interior. Alexandria Belton contributed eight points, five rebounds, four assists, and five steals, filling the stat sheet and helping fuel Wesleyan's transition game. With contributions across the lineup and a strong defensive effort that limited Methodist to 57 points, the Bishops secured an important conference road win and continued to build momentum in USA South play. Your Bishops will be back in action on Friday, January 30, 2026, when they host Salem at Everett Gymnasium in USA South Conference play.
