Fayetteville, N.C. - N.C. Wesleyan delivered a strong second-half performance to secure an 82–67 USA South Conference road victory over Methodist on February 18 at the March F. Riddle Center in Fayetteville. In a game that featured five ties and nine lead changes in the first half, the Bishops carried a narrow 35–31 advantage into the break before pulling away with a dominant 47-point second half. Wesleyan shot an impressive 58.3 percent from the field and 41.7 percent from three-point range while converting all seven of its free-throw attempts. The Bishops controlled the interior with 44 points in the paint, outrebounded Methodist 37–28, and received 34 bench points, showcasing depth and efficiency in a decisive conference win.
Markquan Gilbert led the charge with a stellar performance off the bench, pouring in 25 points on 12-of-13 shooting while adding six rebounds and a steal. Justin Burden recorded a double-double with 16 points and a game-high 12 rebounds, knocking down both of his three-point attempts and anchoring the glass. Nasir Johnson contributed 12 points and three assists, while Rashod Smith added 10 points, six assists, and three steals to guide the offense and apply defensive pressure.
