Bishops Close Regular Season, Set to Host First-Round Playoff Game

Brevard, N.C. - N.C. Wesleyan closed out its regular season on February 21 with a hard-fought 75–67 USA South Conference contest at Brevard's Boshamer Gymnasium. After facing an early 23–6 first-quarter deficit, the Bishops steadily battled back and showed resilience throughout the remainder of the game. Wesleyan found its rhythm offensively in the second half, scoring 25 points in the third quarter and 21 in the fourth while shooting 61.5 percent in the final period. The Bishops dominated the boards with 45 rebounds, including 17 offensive boards that led to 26 second-chance points, and added 31 bench points in a determined effort to close the gap down the stretch. N.C. Wesleyan also capitalized at the free-throw line, converting 16-of-19 attempts, and generated 21 points off turnovers while continuing to attack the paint for 34 interior points.

Dorinda Jordan led the way with 16 points and eight rebounds, going 6-of-8 from the free-throw line and anchoring the interior presence. Anaya Hall added 13 points, knocking down all five of her free-throw attempts while contributing on both ends of the floor. Alexandria Belton finished with 10 points, five rebounds, and four steals, providing energy in transition, while Harmony Martin delivered a strong all-around performance with six points, nine rebounds, and a three-pointer off the bench. Despite the final result, the Bishops' second-half surge and balanced contributions showcased their fight and momentum heading into postseason play.

With the regular season now complete, N.C. Wesleyan will turn its focus to the USA South Conference Tournament, beginning playoff action on February 24 when the Bishops host Greensboro in the First Round at Everett Gymnasium.
