Wesleyan Battles Through Road Contest at Huntingdon

Montgomery, A.L. - The N.C. Wesleyan women's lacrosse team traveled to Huntingdon on March 28 for a USA South matchup, falling 21-1. The Battling Bishops faced an early surge from the host Hawks, who built a 4-0 lead in the opening quarter and extended it to 12-0 by halftime.

Despite the deficit, Wesleyan continued to compete and found a breakthrough in the third quarter when Nicole Triassi scored the team's lone goal of the contest on an unassisted effort. The Bishops generated five total shots, with Triassi leading the way with three attempts, while continuing to battle for possessions throughout the game.

Defensively, Elizabeth Daniels played all 60 minutes in goal and recorded 11 saves while facing heavy pressure from a Huntingdon offense that tallied 42 shots. Kelsi Oyer contributed across the field with two ground balls and three draw controls, while Lauren Graham added three ground balls and two draw controls.

Although the result did not fall in their favor, the Battling Bishops continued to show effort on both ends of the field and will look to regroup as they move forward in conference play.
