Bishops Fall on the Road at Methodist

Fayetteville, N.C. - The N.C. Wesleyan women's lacrosse team traveled to Fayetteville on April 7 for a USA South matchup against Methodist, falling 22-0. The Battling Bishops faced a strong offensive effort from the Monarchs, who jumped out to a quick start and controlled the pace throughout the contest.

Methodist built a 10-0 lead in the opening quarter and extended the margin to 15-0 by halftime. The Monarchs continued to add to their lead in the second half, scoring four goals in the third quarter and three more in the fourth. Wesleyan was limited offensively, recording one shot in the game, with Nicole Triassi generating the lone attempt.

Defensively, the Bishops continued to compete against a high-powered attack. Elizabeth Daniels and Lauren Graham split time in goal, combining for six saves while facing 34 shots. Diana Villar led Wesleyan with four ground balls, while Bri Garcia and Kelsi Oyer each added multiple ground balls and contributed in transition.

Despite the result, the Battling Bishops continued to battle throughout all four quarters and will look to regroup as they continue conference play.
