Rocky Mount, N.C. – North Carolina Wesleyan University Head Men's Soccer Coach Mark Bowman has announced the addition of Nick Catanzarite to the Battling Bishops coaching staff as an assistant coach.
Catanzarite arrives in Rocky Mount following a successful playing and analytical career that spans the professional, collegiate, and scouting levels. His diverse background brings valuable experience in player development, tactical analysis, and recruitment to the NC Wesleyan men's soccer program.
Most recently, Catanzarite competed professionally for Adelaide Olympic FC in Australia's National Premier Leagues (NPL), where he continued to develop his understanding of the game while demonstrating strong leadership qualities on and off the field.
Prior to his professional playing career, Catanzarite served as a scouting analyst with Detroit City FC of the USL Championship. In that role, he conducted live and video analysis, prepared detailed scouting reports, and assisted with player evaluation and recruitment efforts. His experience in performance analysis has provided him with a strong foundation in tactical systems, match preparation, and game management.
Catanzarite also enjoyed an outstanding collegiate playing career. After beginning his career at NCAA Division I Liberty University and earning ASUN All-Freshman Team honors, he transferred to NCAA Division II Cedarville University, where he emerged as one of the region's top players. As a team captain, he earned numerous accolades, including Midwest Region Player of the Year, GMAC Offensive Player of the Year, and First Team All-Ohio honors.
His soccer journey also includes development experience with Rochester New York FC in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy, one of the nation's premier pathways for elite youth players.
In addition to his playing and analytical experience, Catanzarite has been actively involved in youth soccer development, organizing and directing camps focused on technical skill growth, player education, and overall development.
A native of Syracuse, New York, Catanzarite earned his bachelor's degree in Sports Management from Cedarville University in 2025.
Catanzarite joins a Battling Bishops program coming off a historic 2025 season that included a USA South Conference Championship and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament. His addition further strengthens a coaching staff committed to building upon the program's recent success and continuing to develop championship-caliber student-athletes.
