Raleigh, NC - The NC Wesleyan softball team split a DH in the Grand Slam Classic on Saturday. The ladies won a hard fought 8-7 victory over Denison 8-7. On the mound, Emily Humphrey got the win in 5 inningsof work by striking out 4. She also did not give up a run as well. 

On offense, the ladies had an impressive day combining for 10 hits. Molly Alejandrino had an outstanding 3 hit day and got 3 RBI's to go along with them. Center fielder Emily Osteguin also played a vital role in the close victory with with 2 RBI's and 2 hits. The other big contributer on offfense was Alexis Whitfield who had a solid multihit game.

In the 4th, the Bishops exploded for a huge 6 run 4th, which eventually enough to get the victory.

In the other game, the ladies could not get the bats going and fell to Rowan 6-0.

The Grand Slam Clasic will continue Sunday at 10 am where the Bishops will host the tournament.
