Brevard, NC - The N.C. Wesleyan men's basketball team dropped the final game of the weekend in a nail-biting 83-80 loss to Brevard, falling to 1-3 in conference play.

The Bishops were led by standout performances from Marquis Eskew and Khalid Chavis-Hinds, both of whom reached the 20 point plateau. Eskew finished the afternoon with 23 points on 8-of-16 shooting, including a stellar 7-of-9 from the free-throw line, and added four assists. Chavis-Hinds contributed 20 points on 7-of-14 shooting while going 4-of-5 from the charity stripe.

NCWU also saw two other players reach double figures. Markquan Gilbert tallied twelve points and six rebounds, while forward James Jones added ten points on 4-of-7 shooting.

The game was tightly contested from the start, with Wesleyan holding a slim two-point lead at halftime after shooting an impressive 59% from the field in the opening period. The Bishops continued to dominance inside, scoring 40 of its 80 points in the paint and finishing with 30 made field goals.

However, Brevard turned the tide in the second half, shooting a scorching 57% from the floor and matching Wesleyan's interior presence with 46 points in the paint. Twain Wilson led the Tornados with a game-high 24 points on 9-of-14 shooting.
