Rocky Mount, NC - In one of the most exciting games of the season, the N.C. Wesleyan men's basketball team battled Pfeiffer in a back-and-forth contest featuring ten ties and eleven lead changes before ultimately falling 86-77 at home Saturday afternoon

The Bishops had four players score in double figures, led by Markquan Gilbert's sixteen-point, six-rebound performance. Gilbert was dominant inside, making seven field goals and going 2-for-3 from the free-throw line. Marquis Eskew added fourteen points on an efficient 7-of-9 shooting, while forward James Jones contributed ten points to the offensive effort.

Both teams put on an offensive showcase, with Wesleyan shooting 51% from the field and an impressive 11-of-14 from the free-throw line. The Bishops controlled the paint, scoring 44 points inside and getting 22 points from the bench.

Despite Wesleyan's strong offensive output, Pfeiffer's late-game surge proved to be the difference. The Falcons, led by Daymon Beckwith's 21 points, shot 55% from the floor and nearly matched the Bishops' interior production with 40 points in the paint.

In a second half filled with big shots on both sides, Pfeiffer found separation in the closing minutes, using a key scoring run to seal the victory late.
