Balanced Attack Propels Men's Basketball Past William Peace, 87-69

Raleigh, NC - The N.C. Wesleyan men's basketball team put together a dominant second-half performance to secure an 87-69 victory over William Peace on Wednesday night. Four Battling Bishops scored in double figures, leading an efficient offensive display that saw NCWU shoot 56.67% from the field in the second half.

Forward James Jones led the charge with twenty points, five rebounds, and seven made field goals. Right behind him was guard Marquis Eskew, who tallied nineteen points and three rebounds, connecting on seven field goals and going 5-of-8 from the free-throw line. Forward Justin Burden also made a significant impact with eighteen points, four boards, an 8-of-12 shooting night, and a perfect 4-of-4 from the line. Rounding out the top scorers was Khalid Chavis-Hinds, who posted fifteen points and five assists while knocking down five of his six free throws.

The Bishops controlled the paint, outscoring the Pacers 40-32 inside while winning the rebounding battle 39-31, leading to eleven second-chance points. Defensively, NCWU stifled William Peace from beyond the arc, holding the Pacers to just 5-of-24 from three-point range. The Bishops also forced sixteen turnovers, converting them into eleven points.
