Buena Vista, VA - The N.C. Wesleyan men's basketball team continued its hot streak on Saturday, securing a hard-fought 63-59 victory over Southern Virginia. The Bishops have now won three straight games and seven of its last eight contests.

Khalid Chavis-Hinds led the way once again for NCWU, delivering a dominant performance with a game-high 21 points while adding six rebounds and a team-best three steals. Chavis-Hinds was nearly automatic from the free-throw line, converting 9-of-10 attempts.
Guard Marquis Eskew also made a significant impact, scoring fourteen points while grabbing three rebounds. Eskew was flawless from the charity stripe, going a perfect 6-for-6. Forward Justin Buden rounded out the double-figure scorers with eleven points and a team-high eight rebounds, knocking down 7-of-8 free throws.
The Bishops' efficiency at the free-throw line proved to be a difference-maker, as Wesleyan shot a season-best 91.7%, finishing 22-of-24 on the night. On the defensive end, NCWU locked down the Knights, holding SVU to just 22-of-62 shooting (35.5%) from the field and 5-of-18 (27.8%) from beyond the arc.
In a game that featured five ties and eight lead changes, Wesleyan's dominance on the boards played a crucial role. The Bishops outrebounded Southern Virginia 43-32 and scored 38 of its 63 points in the paint, using its inside presence to control the tempo.
