DANVILLE, Va. - The NC Wesleyan College men's tennis team cruised to a 9-0 conference win over Averett University on the road Wednesday afternoon.

The men were led by the #1 doubles team of Giannis Brokakis and Roberto Puig as they edged their foes 8-7 (7-0 in tiebreaker) while the #2 team of Ingmar Remmerswaal and Jhonny Acosta won 8-1 and the #3 team of Juan Vallejo and sophomore Aditya Iyer won 8-3 to stake the Bishops to a 3-0 lead.

 Senior J.D. Telles (#5) and freshman Nikita Revin (#6) then each won via shutouts (6-0, 6-0) at their respective matches to clinch the match for the Bishops before freshman Acosta won 6-0, 6-1 at #4.

Freshman Vallejo then won 6-3, 6-1 at #3 singles while won Iyer won 6-2, 6-1 at #2 singles. Puig then capped the shutout with a 6-4, 6-2 win at #1 singles.

The Bishops improve to 15-2 overall and 7-0 in the conference with the win and will next go on the road to face a challenging non-conference foe College of New Jersey on Sunday at 11 AM while Wesleyan's "B" team will also host William Peace on Saturday at Noon.
