ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan College women's tennis team fell 6-3 at home in the ISEF Dome vs. Pfeiffer University in their conferene opener on Saturday.

Elisa Mariotti and Isabella Gastelumendi dominated thier doubles foe at the top line 8-1 while the #2 team of senior Chandler Brice and junior Miguelina Paiva fell 8-6.

Mariotti then win 6-3, 6-1 at the top line while Brice won 7-6, 6-2 at the third line. Unfortunately, that would be all the matches the Bishops could win on this day as Paiva fell 6-3, 6-3 at the #4 spot and Gastelumendi lost a tight three-setter 6-2, 4-6, 0-1. Due to injuries, Welseyan had to forfeit the #5 and #6 spots in the loss.

The women fall to 0-5 overall and 0-1 in conference while Pfeiffer improves to 5-4.

The women return to action on Wednesday at Peace at 2:00.
