Rocky Mount, NC - On a perfect day for a race, the N.C. Wesleyan Athletic Department once again hosted the USA South Cross Country Championship.The championship will consisted of two races, with the men's division covering an 8k distance and the women's division racing over a 6k course with representatives from the conference in attendance.
**Men's Race Highlights** In the fiercely competitive men's race, Wesleyan's own
Philly Barungi showcased his athletic and determination, finishing as the highest-placed Battling Bishop. Barungi crossed the finish line with a time of 31:19:08, securing the 33rd position. Emmanuel Carrillo-Mendez demonstrated his exceptional athletic prowess by finishing 37th with a time of 31:40:09, while
Ayden Harper fought valiantly to secure the 44th spot with a time of 33:23:02.
**Women's Race Highlights** On the women's side, North Carolina Wesleyan was represented by two remarkable athletes.
Kamiyah Wooten displayed exceptional skill and tenacity, finishing 37th with a time of 33:53:03.
Mariah Brooks showcased her endurance and determination by completing the course with a time of 36:24:03.
