Rocky Mount, N.C. - The N.C. Wesleyan baseball program swept Methodist on senior weekend to win the USA South regular season title for their tenth straight win.

How it Happened (Game 1):

• Wesleyan would score the only run of the game in the 8th inning off a Luke Chung sac-fly that scored Drifton Padgett
• Payne Stolsworth would throw a 133-pitch complete game shutout allowing four hits and striking out eight

How it Happened (Game 2):

• In another pitcher's dual, Hunter Hill would toss eight innings allowing six hits, and did not allow an earned run. He also was able to strike out eight Monarchs
• Cullen Davis would come in the 9th and get a three-out save to cap off the series victory.
• Wesleyan would get on the board in the 3rd with Colin Scoggins getting a big single to break the scoreless tie. Tyson Bass would come around to score
• Bass and Lyon would go yard back-to-back in the fifth to make the game 3-0 in Wesleyan's favor.
• Difton Padgett would put the game out of reach in the 8th with a single to score Alex Moskel.

How it Happened (Game 3):

• The Tyson Bass show took center stage in game three with Bass hitting for 3/4 of the cycle and hitting a line shot homer to left that started the game off. He would then drive in Zach Lyon in the second with a single to the same part of the field.
• Jaiden Barker would also have a big base knock that scored Jackson Hobbs.
• Danny Thompson would throw three innings of relief topping off at 94 and struck out four Monarchs to shut the door on the series sweep.

Wesleyan will return home on Friday at 5:00 to face the winner of Greensboro and Pfeiffer in the second round of the USA South Conference Tournament. The Bishops enter the tournament as the #1 overall seed.
