Greensboro, NC - The N.C. Wesleyan men's basketball team earned its first USA South win of the season in thrilling fashion, edging out Greensboro College 78-75 in a tightly contested battle on Saturday.

The Bishops held a slim one-point lead at halftime and relied on strong performances across the board to seal the victory. Senior Khalid Chavis-Hinds led the way with 22 points in 31 minutes, connecting on ten field goals to pace the offense.
Four NCWU players finished in double figures, with Omari Bolden contributing fifteen points, three assists, and two rebounds while going a perfect 4-for-4 from the free-throw line. Graduate student Marquis Eskew added thirteen points and two rebounds, and forward Markquan Gilbert provided a strong presence at the stretch forward position, tallying twelve points, three rebounds, and two assists.
Big man Ky'ron Kelly anchored the glass, grabbing nine of NCWU's 25 rebounds, as both teams finished statistically even in rebounding. Wesleyan excelled inside, scoring 48 of its 78 points in the paint, and recorded one of its best shooting performances of the year, hitting 56.1% of its shots from the field.
The game featured five ties and seven lead changes, with the Bishops capitalizing on seventeen points off turnovers to gain an edge.
Despite the win, Wesleyan had to contend with a remarkable individual performance from Greensboro's Isaiah Pruett, who poured in 39 points, including seven three-pointers and thirteen total field goals — one of the top scoring outputs in the conference this season.
