Box Score Rocky Mount, NC - The North Carolina Wesleyan women's soccer team rallied from an early deficit to earn a 2-1 win over Methodist on Wednesday afternoon at Scalf Field.
Methodist struck first in the 16th minute through Haley Cousins, but the Bishops answered in the 33rd when Samantha Dell finished a feed from Mckayla Farrow. The winner came in the 78th minute as Eden Whiteside buried a service from Dell to make it 2-1.
Goalkeeper Grace Walls recorded three saves in the victory. Dell paced the attack with a goal and an assist, and Wesleyan was clinical—scoring twice on three total shots.
NCWU improves to 7-9-1 overall and 4-5 in USA South play. The Bishops will open the USA South Conference Tournament on Saturday at 4:15 p.m. against Greensboro, with the match set to be played at Pride Field.
