Box Score Brevard, NC - The 37th-ranked N.C. Wesleyan men's tennis team delivered a dominant performance on the road Wednesday afternoon, sweeping Brevard 7-0 at the McCoy Tennis Complex. With the win, the Battling Bishops improve to 8-11 overall and remain undefeated in USA South play at 5-0.
The Bishops set the tone early by cruising through doubles play. The tandem of Francesco Raparo and Bohdan Zhylchuk earned a quick 6-0 win on Court 3, followed by a 6-0 sweep at No. 2 from Logan Stoltz and Brody Brice. The No. 1 duo of Albert Sitwell and Luca Knese capped off the doubles sweep with a 6-1 victory.
In singles action, Wesleyan didn't drop a set, showing their depth and dominance throughout the lineup. Stoltz struck first at No. 5 with a flawless 6-0, 6-0 win. Zhylchuk followed with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 4 before Sitwell clinched the match at No. 3, also winning 6-0, 6-0.
Knese continued his strong play at No. 2, blanking his opponent 6-0, 6-0, while Bernardo Messineo earned a 6-0, 6-3 result on Court 6. Diego Segovia rounded out the sweep with a 6-4, 6-0 win at the top singles spot.
