Mount Olive, NC - The North Carolina Wesleyan women's track and field team produced several strong showings at Thursday's Mount Olive First Chance Meet, using the event as a final opportunity to improve performances late in the outdoor season.
Highlighting the day was the Bishops' 4x100-meter relay team, which secured a second-place finish with an impressive time of 47.71 seconds. The relay squad featured KeSondra Pickett, Ti'asia Bryant, T'Miya Bryant, and Kamiyah Wooten, finishing behind only Barton.
Individually, Kamiyah Wooten continued her standout season by placing fourth in the 100-meter dash finals, clocking a time of 11.97 seconds. Wooten also dominated the 400-meter dash, winning the event with a season-best time of 55.75 seconds to earn first place overall.
In the 100-meter dash preliminaries, Ti'asia Bryant also made a strong impact, advancing to the finals and later placing sixth with a time of 11.97 seconds.
Rounding out the individual highlights, KeSondra Pickett recorded a third-place finish in the women's triple jump with a best mark of 10.92 meters.
Overall, the Battling Bishops scored six points as a team, good for sixth place among a competitive field that included several NCAA Division II programs.
