Geneva, OH - North Carolina Wesleyan standout Kamiyah Wooten has qualified for the 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Track & Field National Championships in not one, but three sprinting events — the 100-meter, 200-meter, and 400-meter dashes. The championship meet is set for May 22-24 at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
Wooten, one of the most dominant sprinters in the South Region this season, earned her spot among the nation's elite following a stellar outdoor campaign in which she posted top-tier national times across all three events. Her season-best marks include a 55.20 in the 400m, a 23.74 in the 200m, and an 11.79 in the 100m, showcasing her exceptional range and speed.
"It's a tremendous accomplishment for Kamiyah to qualify in three events at the national level," said Head Coach Bill Dunn. "Her work ethic, determination, and leadership have been instrumental to our team's success. She continues to set the standard, and we're excited to see her compete on the biggest stage in Division III."
Wooten swept the 100, 200, and 400-meter titles at the 2025 USA South Outdoor Championships, headlining a dominant showing by the Battling Bishops. She added to her résumé with a victory in the 400m at the Mount Olive First Chance Meet (55.75) and top finishes in all three events at the Big Orange Invite, where she placed 4th in the 400m and 8th in the 100m against elite competition.
Wooten will begin her championship weekend with the 400-meter prelims on Thursday, May 22, followed by the 100-meter and 200-meter prelims on Friday. If she advances, the finals will be held Saturday afternoon, with the 400 at 2:20 PM, 100 at 2:40 PM, and 200 at 3:50 PM.
