Bloomington, MN - North Carolina Wesleyan second baseman Javier Quintana has been named Second Team All-Region by D3baseball.com for Region 6, as announced by the national outlet.
The honor recognizes Quintana's outstanding 2025 season, which saw the senior infielder emerge as one of the most consistent offensive threats for the Battling Bishops. The D3baseball.com All-Region teams are selected annually from over 1,000 nominated players across the nation, with three teams chosen in each region by a panel of staff members and contributors.
Quintana started all 38 games for Wesleyan this spring, posting a .343 batting average and tallying 49 hits in 143 at-bats. He recorded fourteen doubles, eight home runs, and 33 RBIs, while scoring 42 runs. The versatile second baseman reached base at a .481 clip and slugged .608, finishing among the team leaders in nearly every major offensive category. He also drew 37 walks and was hit by pitch twice, demonstrating excellent plate discipline.
"Javier has been the heartbeat of our infield and a consistent force at the plate all year long," said Head Coach Greg Clifton. "He plays the game the right way, and it's great to see him recognized on a regional level for everything he's brought to our program."
With this accolade, Quintana becomes the latest in a strong tradition of Bishop baseball players to earn regional recognition, further solidifying the program's reputation as a competitive force within Division III baseball.
