N.C. Wesleyan Lands 153 on USA South Academic All-Conference Team

Rome, GA - The USA South Athletic Conference has officially announced its 2024-25 Academic All-Conference Team, recognizing 1,472 student-athletes across the league who excelled in the classroom during the academic year. North Carolina Wesleyan University was well represented on the prestigious list, landing 153 Battling Bishops on the honor roll.

To qualify, student-athletes must have earned a minimum 3.30 GPA in both the fall and spring semesters of the academic year. Additionally, those who achieved a 3.90 GPA or higher earned special recognition with the designation "with distinction."

North Carolina Wesleyan's honorees span a wide range of sports, with standout academic performers coming from all corners of the department — including both NCAA-sanctioned and other athletic programs.

Among the notable recipients earning distinction were Frances Hanshew, Drake Hobgood, Maxima Iglesias, Aleah Jones, Bautista Lopes, Andrea Elaez Miranda, Madison Morrison, Linda Nhiwatiwa, Agathe Olry, Yamila Ordonez, Victoria Seggiaro Parma, Julian Pfefferman, Juan Pielach, Francesco Raparo, Agustina Requejo, Morgan Aycock, Haden Blanks, Santiago Larumbe, Lucas Perez Souts, Caitlyn Butler, Joaquin Cabello, Agustin Cardaci, Emily Foraker, Abriella Roberts, Nadia Simmons, Mackenzie Stalfire, Jacob Westermark, Grace Walls, Alexis Whitfield, Brady Williams, and Preston Workman, highlighting Wesleyan's commitment to academic excellence.

Director of Athletics Aaron Denton expressed pride in the university's continued academic success.

"We are incredibly proud of our student-athletes for their hard work and commitment in the classroom," said Denton. "Achieving this level of academic recognition across such a wide variety of sports is a testament to the culture of excellence here at Wesleyan."

North Carolina Wesleyan's 153 selections continue a strong tradition of academic success within the USA South, further illustrating the balance of competitive athletics and high academic standards for Bishop student-athletes.
