Bishops Earn Three Strong Wins During Memphis Road Trip

The NC Wesleyan men's tennis team delivered a strong showing during its trip to Memphis, earning multiple victories while competing against Rhodes College, Hendrix College, and DePauw University.

Rhodes College

The Bishops opened the stretch with an impressive 6-1 victory over Rhodes College at the Leftwich Tennis Center. NC Wesleyan set the tone early by sweeping all three doubles matches. Albert Sitwell and Diego Villafane captured a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles, Ben Russell and Adam Singleton followed with a 6-1 victory at No. 2, and Brody Brice and Largo Koch secured the sweep with a 6-3 decision at No. 3 doubles.

In singles play, Wesleyan claimed five of the six matches. Adam Singleton battled to a three-set victory at No. 2 singles, while Farhaan Patrawala earned a hard-fought three-set win at No. 3. Albert Sitwell added a straight-set victory at No. 4, Martin Cardestig secured a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 5, and Joey Govenlock closed the match with a dominant 6-0, 6-2 performance at No. 6 to seal the team triumph.

Hendrix College

NC Wesleyan continued its strong play with a 4-1 victory over Hendrix College. The Bishops secured the doubles point thanks to wins from Adam Singleton and Ben Russell at No. 2 doubles (6-1) and Brody Brice and Largo Koch at No. 3 doubles (6-2).

In singles competition, Wesleyan collected three victories to clinch the match. Adam Singleton fought through a tight three-set battle at No. 2 singles to earn the win, while Albert Sitwell delivered a 6-4, 6-1 victory at No. 3. Farhaan Patrawala also controlled his match at No. 4 singles, winning convincingly 6-1, 6-1 to help secure the team result.

DePauw University

The Bishops closed the trip with another strong performance, defeating DePauw University 4-2. Although Wesleyan dropped two of the three doubles matches, Brody Brice and Largo Koch kept the Bishops in the fight with a 7-6 victory at No. 3 doubles.

NC Wesleyan responded with a dominant showing in singles play. Adam Singleton led the way with a 6-1, 6-4 victory at No. 1 singles, while Albert Sitwell rallied to win in three sets at No. 3. Farhaan Patrawala secured another straight-set win at No. 4, and Martin Cardestig added a commanding 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 5 to help the Bishops claim the team victory.

Across the three matches, the Bishops showcased strong depth throughout the lineup, particularly in singles play, as they continued to build momentum during their road stretch in Memphis.
