Box Score LaGrange, GA - The N.C. Wesleyan football team secured its first win of the season in dominant fashion on the road 35-14 over the Panthers of LaGrange. The Battling Bishop's offense would explode for its biggest game of the season, combining for a season high 516 yards of offense with 364 of those coming from the ground attack. Running back 
Anthony Byrd would have a career day, rushing for 203 yards with two touchdowns while averaging nearly eight yards per carry. With Wesleyan rotating different backs depending on the formation, 
Desmond Lee would get in on the party contributing 85 yards on the ground while getting two touchdowns for himself.
QB Zach Marquis would get the nod as the starter once again by Coach Filkovski on Saturday and would sling the ball for 152 yards, with 100 of those yards going to 
Anthony Byrd  and 
Christian Drumgoole. For the first time in nearly two years, Byrd would lead the Battling Bishops in both rushing and receiving yards and be responsible for nearly half of the total offensive yards. Drumgoole would be the only true wide out with over 50 yards of receiving averaging nearly 8.3 yards per reception in the slot.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Battling Bishops would hold the Panthers to two touchdowns, both coming on the ground. Sophomore linebacker 
Andrew Brown would lead the Battling Bishops with six tackles, and with the help of the defensive line caused headaches for the Panther's passing attack all day long. The Battling Bishop's defensive line would be led by 
Ahman Winston who would come up with a team high 1.5 sacks and play a major role of Wesleyan improving to 1-1 in league play.
Game Notes:
	- Saturday's win is back-to-back victories over the Panthers for the Battling Bishops, defeating LaGrange 37-22 in a hurricane last season.
- Wesleyan's 35 points is tied for the most amount of points scored in a contest in nearly four seasons. Both coming against Greensboro, who travels to Rocky Mount next weekend.

	- Saturday, the football program will welcome Greensboro into Vernon T. Bradley Jr. Stadium for the only night game of the season. The Homecoming game is set to begin at 6:00.
