Rocky Mount, NC - The NC Wesleyan women's basketball team defeated Pfeiffer 58-49 in the quarterfinals of the USA South Conference Tournament. The Bishops were led in scoring by junior guard Nadia Simmons, who poured in 14 points with 6 rebounds. Areina Harris also contributed with 10 points and 3 rebounds, while senior forward Kayrisma Harrison pulled down an impressive 11 rebounds.

The Bishops ended the first quarter down 7, but the suffocating defense held Pfeiffer to just 34% shooting from the field and 0% from beyond the arc allowing the Wesleyan to advance to the next round on Thursday. Wesleyan also dominated the rebounding battle, grabbing 47 boards to Pfeiffer's 37 and winning each quarter after the first.

With this win, the Bishops advanced to the conference tournament semi-finals, where they will face Brevard on Thursday night at 7:30.
