Rome, GA - The N..C Wesleyan women's soccer team made a strong showing on the 2024 USA South All-Conference list, with Eden Whiteside leading the way as a First-Team All-Conference selection. The Battling Bishops also had two players named to the Honorable Mention list, including standout freshman Makena Meyer and rookie goalkeeper Grace Walls. 

Whiteside Earns First-Team All-Conference Recognition
Junior Eden Whiteside, a forward from Jeffersonton, VA, earned a well-deserved spot on the First-Team All-Conference list after an outstanding season for the Bishops. Whiteside played in 19 games and finished the year with seven goals and seventeen points, ranking among the top offensive contributors for Wesleyan.

Whiteside's performance was not just about scoring goals; her ability to create opportunities for herself and her teammates was key to the Bishops' success this season. She also posted the second-highest shooting percentage on the team at 0.233, demonstrating her clinical finishing ability.

Meyer & Walls Earn Honorable Mention Honors
Freshman Makena Meyer had a sensational debut season, leading the Bishops in goals with eight. A native of Hobe Sound, FL, Meyer played in seventeen games and showed exceptional poise and confidence in her first collegiate campaign. Meyer's impressive 0.348 shooting percentage ranked among the best on the team, and her ability to find the back of the net played a critical role in Wesleyan's offensive success this year. Her Honorable Mention All-Conference recognition underscores the bright future ahead for the program.

Also earning Honorable Mention honors was freshman goalkeeper Grace Walls, who had an exceptional first year between the posts for the Bishops. Walls, from Moyock, NC, appeared in fifteen games and made 66 saves, allowing only 23 goals on the season. Her save percentage of nearly 0.750 was among the top five in the USA South, and she consistently kept Wesleyan in games with crucial saves throughout the season.
