Marquis Eskew Named Second Team All-Conference After Stellar Season, 1,000-Point Milestone

Rome, GA – N.C. Wesleyan men's basketball standout Marquis Eskew has been named to the USA South Second Team All-Conference, capping off a phenomenal season in which the senior guard also eclipsed the 1,000-point career milestone.

Eskew served as a consistent offensive force for the Battling Bishops throughout the 2024-25 campaign, finishing the regular season averaging 13.7 points per game. Over 25 starts, Eskew poured in 342 total points, shooting an impressive 47% from the field while knocking down seventeen three-pointers and converting over 70 percent of his free throw attempts.

A proven scorer in clutch moments, Eskew recorded seven games with nineteen or more points, including a season-high 27-point performance against Christopher Newport on November 10. Whether attacking the rim, pulling up from mid-range, or stepping outside for the occasional three, Eskew's versatile scoring ability made him a key focus for opposing defenses all season.

In addition to his scoring ability, Eskew also made his presence felt across the stat sheet, contributing 2.3 rebounds per game while tallying 31 assists, 20 steals, and six blocks.

One of the defining moments of Eskew's season — and his career — came when he surpassed 1,000 career points, joining an elite group in N.C. Wesleyan basketball history. The milestone is a testament to his dedication, work ethic, and ability to elevate his game year after year.

Head Coach John Thompson praised Eskew for his leadership on and off the court.

"Marquis has been a cornerstone for our program. He's one of those players who brings it every day — not just in games, but in practice, in the locker room, and everywhere in between. Reaching 1,000 points and earning All-Conference honors is well-deserved, and we couldn't be prouder."
